Nice to Meet You!
Let's begin with the basics, shall we? I've lived in NYC since 2003, and have been living "zero waste" for 3 years now. I live with my partner and our high maintenance kitty cat Winston. I enjoy being outside when it's warm, playing my ukulele (I'm learning...), and connecting with good friends. I did musical theatre for a living for 10 years, and decided a couple years ago to go back to school for Political Science, which I will start full time this fall! I have dedicated myself to helping others through activism, and I hope to write policy when I grow up. I do my best to include intersectionality in my life, including in my zero waste journey, and believe it's imperative to not only include but raise up voices of color in my activism.
I have transitioned my zero waste focus from solely the individual to holding corporations and the government responsible for their powerful hand in global warming. Marginalized communities suffer the most from the effects of global warming, and it's my goal to hold the right people responsible. That being said, I fully believe that we can only do what we can do as individuals, and every single little bit helps. I'm happy to help you start your journey into zero waste!
I'm so happy to have you join me on this journey. Together we can work to reduce our waste and learn to love wholly what we already have.
